An excellent and exciting opportunity exists for an Engineering Manager to provide manufacturing, design and manage process and configuration control for the A350XWB product production line liaising directly with the UK facility Engineering Teams ensuring robust execution of the production systems and process. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a global business with bespoke manufacturing facility for the A350XWB.
The appointed Engineering Manager will need to carry out the following duties;
-Management of engineering team with responsibilities for compliance, NC programming, systems management, MES management and manage the implementation of changes under the Design Organisation Authority
-Configuration Management of all materials and processes
-Full compliance with the engineering data pack and processes that support the quality management systems and appropriate approvals
-Process implementation, maintenance and improvement ensuring that the engineering data pack is fully aligned
-Management of all change process associated with product and processes
-Implementation of new customer head of versions within the production environment
-Control NCR, concessions, source inspection, FAI, functional testing and quality aspects.
-On-going development of all engineering and manufacturing systems
-Continuous Improvement of all processes looking for Smart solutions
The selected Engineering Manager will need to meet the following key skills for the role;
-Minimum HND (preferably Degree) in an engineering discipline.
-Knowledge / Experience
-Experience with delegation of minor responsibilities under the UK DOA; ideal candidate would have experience as a company signatory (this would be an advantageous but necessary for you application)
-Minimum 5 years experience in a related industry (incl 2-3 yrs interfacing with production)
-Strong technical/engineering competence
-Disciplined & process oriented mindset
-Work with engineers understanding the issues and acting in an appropriate controlled manner under a delegation of authority role
-Excellent communication skills
-Technical Skills / Competencies
-Strong working knowledge and understanding of Quality and Aerospace Standards ( ISO 9000, AS9100, EASA Part 21 Part G & J)
-Problem Solving Skills within an engineering environment
-Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset.
-Able to read, understand and interpret digital engineering data
-Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written.
-Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
-Ability to operate effectively within a matrix organisation structure.
-IT literate Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, CAD & CAM systems
